Minneapolis, April 2, 2019 – The 2019 NCAA Men’s Final Four Championship will be at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN on April 8th. While the Twins Cities is buzzing with activity leading up to this annual collegiate tournament, Staging Concepts is actively preparing for this large equipment installation and stadium transformation.
For the past 10 years, Staging Concepts, a staging manufacturer based in Minneapolis, has supplied the equipment used to install seating risers and the court sub-structure at the NCAA Final Four Championship. The designing for this event takes months and come the time for this year’s tournament, the installation of one of the largest portage seating risers takes about two weeks to complete.
To ensure accuracy for this elite stadium transformation, a high-tech 3D laser scanner was used to capture every inch of US Bank Stadium’s interior. This data allowed the engineers at Staging Concepts to precisely design the equipment necessary to transform the football stadium into a basketball court.
For the 2019 championship game, approximately 5,600 Staging Concepts platforms are being installed at US Bank Stadium. Approximately 300 platforms (20,000 square feet) are used to support the basketball court, while the majority are used to support about 18,755 seats. In total, around 180,000 square feet of platform coverage will be installed at US Bank Stadium for the NCAA Final Four Championship.
