Staging Concepts was happy to be a part of the exciting project at Chicago’s Navy Pier, The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare. Opening in the fall of 2017, this new space is a re-purposing of the Pier’s former Skyline Stage. It’s now an enclosed, year-round theater space, which will connect to Chicago Shakespeare’s two existing spaces—the Courtyard Theater and the theater Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare—through expanded lobbies. The innovative design, from theater consulting firm Charcoalblue, features a series of mobile towers that allow the space to be configured in a variety of shapes and sizes with audience capacities ranging from 150 to 850. Staging Concepts provided platforms adjacent to the towers, which can be moved along with the mobile towers allowing unlimited changes in configurations for the space. Staging Concepts provided the following products: Relia-Flooring, Seating Riser, 474 SC90 decks, 9600s, legs and platforms, IBC guardrail, and custom guardrail.
